What IDE and compiler do people use to develope apps for Ubuntu?

The only windowed applications I have written for a Linux machine have been in Java. Sun's NetBeans (http://www.netbeans.org/downloads/index.html) IDE is good for Java development. I've written the rest of my Linux code using good old Emacs and the g++ compiler.
