Diablo 2 lod error 22 wine

I installed diablo 2 lod, install was smooth as pie. Using the lastest Wine package.
The game ran great for about a week.
Now I am getting this error

DIablo II Critical Error

Error 22: A critical error has occured while initializing DirectDraw.

Oh boy not good I said to my self, so I then run Diablo video test.
Jaw drops to floor, no video modes available I can't run Diablo 2.

Not sure what is going on here.

Any help would be great.

Wine's error output produced in the terminal when you run the app would be helpful.

I recieved auto update today to wine version 0.9.50.
This seems to have corrected the problem.
