I've been wondering about this for a while now. The gnome panel drawers in my opinion do not act pretty.
after creating a drawer, you would expect to click on it and it fully expands, to show you all your apps. But my experience have been disappointing. When I click the drawer, it only shows the first item, and after a short delay, suddenly expands the rest of the drawer. Why cant it just expand fully?
Is there by any chance some kind of hack to have it work in this manner?
Thanks,
WW

I thought I was the only one wondering this. I haven't used the drawers in quite sometime, because of this problem. I never found a solution though.

Yup, same problem here and it's really annoying !
The way they seem to only partly unfold at first, seems more like a bug to me...
The advantage of this is not apparent to me at least.

It only seems to do it when desktop effects are enabled. I turned them off and the drawer pops right open. Yet another reason to not use effects. :p

Well... the issue is still around. I've been wondering for a while if it was because of compiz and apparently it is. Maybe there's something I can configure to change it.
