its a stability release mainly, not a major one so it might not come our way.

Upgraded a few hours ago, never noticed the problem with the last version anyway.

What's exciting is Minefield/3.0b2pre... it's way better than the released Firefox 3 beta 1, and has become fully native Linux. (tab bar still looks worse though)

Why wouldn't just wait for it to work it's way into the repos?

They just need to fix the memory usage, places & the new url bar are great.

Places has nothing on Epiphany's automated bookmark hierarchy system.

Fully native in what way?

It intergrates with Gtk apps. So you don't get those ugly form widgets as well :)

does this mean firefox will look/behave better on kde?

doubtful. What really needs to be done is more cooperative work between Qt and GTK, as well as with KDE and Gnome, to make sure that toolkit issues don't ruin user experience.

This is what I mean about the fully native widgets:

The only thing I changed, was the icons for "History, Bookmarks, Downloads, New Window, and New Tab"... and they were all gnome icons before that. (see the gnome home icon. I didn't change that one yet.)

But Firefox used my UbuntuStudio forward/back/refresh/stop buttons... and it also used my gnome folders... (which I switched to UbuntuStudio)...

I also change the "tab-bar" to look like clearlooks glossy, but before that... it was the exact way as it is in Epiphany and gedit.

Can you use the mouse wheel on the tabs to switch between them?

What does the print dialogue look like?

Not sure about either of those features.

Noticed that too. :/ Very lame in my book.

Who are they kidding with their version numbering, 2.0 and 3.0 that is.

2.0.0.10 was out a few days ago, it shows how good Mozilla's QA is.

2.0.0.10 had a regression which they fixed in 2.0.0.11. I do not see anything wrong with that other than that they are on top of fixing bugs...

I've been having problems with javascript on some sites the last couple of days. I'm hoping its better with 2.0.0.11.

I too have problems with Javascript pages. They really **** me off.

How do I simply upgrade to the latest 2.0.0.11?
I suspect I'll have to do a manual update as I doubt this release will make it into the Ubuntu repositories.

UPDATE: Firefox 2.0.0.11 is now in the Ubuntu repositories. It got updated this morning.
