Can you give some specifics on your hardware, like what type of graphics card you have? It is possible you don't have the correct drivers installed. Also, what is the output of "compiz" in terminal?

Compiz in terminal?? How do I do that? And I have an ATI accelerated radeon graphics card... I installed Compiz-config-settings or somthing like that, i installed emarld, and gnome-compiz-manager, and thats it. Then I went into those things applied what I wanted, restarted the computer and nothing worked. I also tried this again, but still nothing. I even tried it without restarting it but nothing worked.

To run anything in terminal, first open terminal, Applications > Accessories > Terminal. Then type compiz, and give the output. However, I don't think you have even installed compiz, just because you have installed compiz-config-settings-manager, doesn't mean you have compiz installed. To make sure you have them installed type
sudo apt-get install compiz emerald in terminal.

This is what I got in terminal.... zlegge@zlegge-laptop:~$ compiz

Thanks, I looked in Synpatics Pack manager and it says Compiz Fusion is already installed. Does the terminal output tell you anything?

Shouldnt you be running an XGL session with an ATI card or is that no longer valid in 7.10. I dont have an ATI card just thought I rememberd this from somewhere

Well, it looks like you don't have the ATI driver installed, to install it go to System > Administration > Restricted Driver Manager and enable Ati accelerated graphics driver.
Then, type sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl in terminal.

Wow! I think something happened!! This is what I got in the notification area...
Xgl server setup changed
The Xgl server will now be started automatically next time you login. It is no longer necessary to use any special X session to start Xgl, and such sessions will likely fail to work properly. Please select a regular session from your session manager next time you log in. To disable Xgl autostart for this user, create a file named ~/.config/xserver-xgl/disable
this is what I got in terminal....
zlegge@zlegge-laptop:~$ sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl

Restart your computer and then log back in, see if compiz works, if not paste the output of compiz from terminal again.

The default key binding is control + alt + drag to free rotate, and the default for rotate is ctrl + alt + left/right arrows. Also, just wondering, is compiz starting when you log in, or does it have to be run?

It started when I logged in and I was like, Whoa! Also, when I edited the settings in "Advance Desktop settings" I can't switch between workspaces and I have Desktop cube enabled.

That looks normal, are you sure everything is set in compiz-config-setting-manager? (ccsm)

Yes, I've set cube with reflections.
Ctrl+alt+LMB works, but I don't know how to add more desktops in ubuntu.
Kubuntu I figured out. Or is it even possible?
:)
Also I've seemed to change the window settings.
If I ucheck everything in windows managment will I get the Min / Max / Close frame around the window?
nevermind.I logged out , back in & it came back.

Wait, dod you mean you only have 2 desktops? If so then you can go into CCSM, general options, desktop size and change it there.

Note: setting the stroke size too large in annotate made my computer lock up.
Seems to be a little glitchy.
Still I think it great.
