I'm trying to install DSL (damn small Linux) on an old toshiba laptop "picture" (http://www.wilmorcus.nl/Winkel/ToshibaSatellite220CS/toshiba-satellite-220cs.jpg)
what I know about the laptop so far is that it has 16MB RAM and 1.4GB space (don't know how to see the amount of Hz)
after installing a while it just stops and does nothing
please help

I have one of those. It's a Portege' and it's probably a 40 MHz 486 DX. DSL will work, but you will have to get more RAM or use the text-mode, command-line only. Check the boot codes to boot into single-user run mode without X windows.

oh, that kinda sucks.. it says on the website that it has been tested on a 16MB ram laptop and worked

never mind. I've been trying a whole bunch of cheat codes for dsl and it still wont work. I'm going to install win95 on it because that only requires, like, 8MB ram or something.. If anybody knows any other Linux systems that requires even less than DSL, please let me know (I've been looking on google, but I can't find anything)
thanks
