I have a Dell D820 laptop with Ubuntu 7.10 installed on it. I have Windows XP Pro installed as the guest OS in VMWare 6.0.2 which is also installed on this laptop. XP is reporting that the (virtual) hard drive is set to DMA Transfer Mode 2 (instead of 5). The physical hard drive on the laptop is Seagate ST9200420ASG which would comfortably support DMA Transfer Mode 5. What do I need to do (to either the guest or host OS's) to get the XP guest OS to set the DMA Transfer Mode to 5?
Thanks,
nh.duma.
