Hi!
I'm trying to install Mythbuntu but I'm getting the following error message:
The display server has been shut down about 6 times in the last 90 seconds. It is lekely that something bad is going on. Waiting for 2 minutes before trying again on display:0.
What's wrong? What can I do? Can you help?

Sounds like X windows is having trouble - probably with the video card. What type of card do you have?

Have you tried the 'safe mode' boot option?

People are always saying ATI cards can be problematic. Did the live CD boot and display the x-windows desktop ok? I am afraid that you might have to google around to find what setup/drivers will work.
Or you could buy a $30 nvidia geforce card that will work better with linux.

Same problem here with the integrated VIA UniChrome Pro on my LN10000EG mobo. Odd, because I've run Xorg on this box fine before. I have the same problem with straight Ubuntu 7.10.... Hmmmm... Maybe I'll bust out my Dapper CD...

You certainly can go Nvidia, it is almost guaranteed to solve your problem.
