The Wine section has great information on getting help with what can run in Wine, but I think a sticky on what people actually use Wine would be helpful.

I agree with the idea but i would rather just link the appDB and encourage users to document it :
http://appdb.winehq.org/
Lets see what others think.

There is a forum header at the top of the list of threads that says thisYou probably want to check the WineHQ database (http://appdb.winehq.org/) to see if they already have information on your application before posting a question. Thanks! Do you have a suggestion for how to make that link more obvious, or perhaps how to word the message more clearly?
I think that might be better than a sticky, especially in such a new forum...although if there is enough interest, your thread certainly could be stuck.

I thinks there's definately something to do to make this message more visible, i haven't even noticed it, that makes my post pretty much senseless since this recommendation is already present.
My apologies LaRoza, i did not see that a header about this was already there.
I think a yellow box like in the resolution center would make this forum header more visible. About the text it says it quite well, if users click the link then the header reach its purpose :)

Make the background of the header's message red and in bold-underlined text. I know people don't like red backgrounds on forums but at least red is a color that catches your attention ;).

Thanks for the input. Take a look at the announcement now and see what you think. Also, let me know if you think I should massage the wording a bit. I want something short with no unnecessary words that is almost certain to be read.

It looks just great now, nothing more to add for me, the wording is really clear.
