I recently got a new Inspiron 1520 from Dell and installed Ubuntu on it. Everything about it seems to be running well: except for a strange Unreal Tournament problem. I'll be playing my favorite mod(Alien Swarm) and all of the sudden the game will go from fullscreen to windowed mode, I try clicking the mouse to do any kind of action and it locks the controls into that action: i.e. I click mouse1 and the computer treats it as if I'm holding down mouse1. This only resolves after I click the touchpad's mouse1. The screen lapses back into fullscreen and things seem to resume normally. So this is somehow related to the touchpad and mouse's relationship to each other. Does this sound like a familiar problem for anyone?

I had this issue too i turned the screen saver off or was it that i set it to 999 and thent he issue stoped ... you will also want to turn of 3d desktop while some have said the performance is slower due to the effects still being loaded i havent found this to be the case.

Yeah, the 3d desktop effects I thought would eat into performance, I haven't had this issue; further more they are just DEAD SEXY! I was blown away by them this weekend. Thanks for the screensaver advice, I'll give 'er a go this evening and post my findings.

For all future users; the screensaver was the problem, this suggestion works.
