I installed ET 2.60 and the 2.60b patch; the game starts without complaint.
I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio card, but have to plug the 5.1 speaker system into the onboard audio jacks. Even then only four speakers work; the center speaker is quiet, but this is good enough for me.
I have sound for all my applications, for each desktop, and for every game except ET.
Tremulous, alien arena, etc., all connect to the internet fine, but ET won't connect at all.
Where do I start?
