It's time for the Ubuntu Forums annual holiday party

Welcome one and all to the annual Official Ubuntu Forums winter holiday party. Some of us celebrate Christmas, others Hanukkah, still others will be enjoying the Aid Al Kebir or something else this winter.

It is not our goal to promote any specific religion, but rather to let everyone know they are welcome to wish one another a joyous season.

In that vein, we invite everyone to join in the fun and add something appropriately seasonal to your avatar. Some good choices would include things like Santa hats, snowmen, snowflakes, and yes, even a nativity scene or menorah, etc. Please don't get obnoxious about it, though, okay? :)

Let's all get carried away being welcoming and friendly to one another and stay far away from being easily offended, grumpy, or feeling the need to proselytize...this is all in fun, let's keep it lighthearted and enjoy one another's holidays (more to celebrate that way) instead of getting involved in some people's exclusive "my beliefs are better than yours" weirdness that sometimes accompanies this time of year.

I will be keeping mine until Little Christmas ( Jan 6 ). When my Grandmother (Who immigrated to the USA from Italy) was a child in southern Italy they got their presents on Jan 6, the day that was believed that the Magi visited the baby Jesus. In an odd continuation of that tradition, at my house we "un"-decorate and get rid of the tree on Little Christmas. So I'll switch my avatar back on Little Christmas.

Removing the decoration and the tree on January 6 is customary in some German speaking parts of Europe. It could be done in other parts of Europe as well.
