When I used Windows, I used software that automatically converted all of my MP3's to 128kbps when I transferred them to my iPod, so it would hold more songs. I can't seem to find any software for Ubuntu (7.10) that will do this. Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be just rip your CD's to your computer in 128kb. You can also check out this Wikipedia link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_iPod_managers) to see a comparison of Ipod Managers (scroll down for Linux). I've used gtkpod and Hipo but don't remember this particular feature included in either. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
