First you'll need to install the offical drivers for you graphics card.
Then go here http://www.beryl-project.org/
Its probably in the repositorys anyway, but there's a link if not.

what version of ubuntu you running?
basically you just need Compiz-Fusion (for the desktop effects, cube, wobby windows etc.) and AWN (Avant Window Navigator) for the Mac-like Launcher bar they have..
once you have both of those set up, it's just a matter of picking a theme which you like and playing with your stuff till you get everything just the way you like it :)

why point him to beryl?
edit: i realise the video says vista vs beryl but i still think pointing him in the direction of compiz is a better idea rather than buggy unsupported beryl.. don't you?

So Compiz is running? What exactly is your question then?
Or is the thread solved already? :)

Settings. You use the "Middle Mouse Button", also known as the "Scroll Wheel". Just middle click on the desktop, and hold the button down.
Then rotate it. The default settings for the "Rotate Cube" plugin should be to zoom out.
