Hi I'm running Gutsy 7.10 with Gnome Desktop Environment

I trying to install a new desktop theme.

I go to system>preferences>appearence>theme install and select a .tar.gz file. My PC tries to install it and then I get an error message saying "The file format is invalid"

What am I doing wrong? Any ideas.

Terry

Sometimes there may be an archive within an archive. Try opening it and see if there's anything else in there.

I don't have the code handy, but I think what you're looking for is Emerald Themes Manager.
Try researching that. I want to say I had to do a sudo apt get install but check synaptics first, it's been awhile since I installed it. Let me know how it worked
