This is my first tutorial! I went over the functions of FirePaint, and discussed how to fine tune the settings to get a better flame. Check it out! :guitar:

Thanks, did it help you at all? I know it's not a very important topic, but I did feel like I could help some people out with it.

Nice Job, I would try to make one for a cool effect. l know there is a photo wheel what can be placed inside the cube. That would be nice.

I'll check it out. I'm thinking I might do one about how to install basic compiz fusion. Video tutorials are great for lazy people, and the easier it is to install cool stuff, the more likley people are to convert!

Nice tutorial! I never bothered modifying it, so I just changed some settings around.

Good to hear! I kinda figured it would be one of those smaller things, but I thought "Hey I could put my pyromania to good use!"

How about Reflections? I think that is one of the coolest effects in Compiz. And the only reason I run Compiz-Fusion, instead of Beryl. For example, the image below.

Other than that, what other effects can the the FirePaint plugin is capable of. Can you adjust it, to make the particles fall? Particle snow?

There is a snow plugin avaliable, but as far as making particle snow, I don't think so. I'll look into reflections, but as of now I don't know near enough to do a tutorial.

Eion, i like your tutorial, you do a good job of covering all the basics. you show what each slider does, as well as how to access the effects settings.

however, i had to turn my speakers all the way up to hear your voice. and even then it was still faint. perhaps you can try to make your sound output louder in your next tutorial?

as for more constructive criticism, i'd say you should tighten up your info. you kinda' bounce back and forth on things. for example, you show people how the sliders work, then you tell them about the reset feature. but you do this after showing about three or so sliders, perhaps you can do that with the first one?

you don't really have to take all that info into account, just thought it might make the "readability" of your tutorial a bit easier for someone to access. one of my mottos is: everyone can use an editor. otherwise, keep up the good work!

i'd love to see a tutorial on downloading, installing, and applying the extra compizfusion updates, such as snow or 3d windows.

best of luck!

Regarding the mic input, yea, I forgot to turn the input volume up.

I had it down to cover the reset button before I started, but I forgot.

Thanks for the crit, it's really helpfull
