Baldur's Gate Video Error

I installed Baldur's Gate and got the latest patch plus the direct X 8 fix. But when I try to launch the game, I get two errors:


An Assertion failed in
D:\Dev\chitin\ChVideo.cpp at line number
4216
Programmer says: No valid video modes
supported.


And right after that, I get this error:


Runtme Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Black
Isle\Baldur's Gate\BGMain.exe


abnormal program termination


But I just want a fix for the first error cause the second error only pops up because of the first. :P

Anyone have any ideas?

Oh ok, so its a bug in Wine itself. I heard that you can use a BG 2 engine to run BG 1. I may have to look into that if its possible.
