warcraft 3 and expansion: iso or mdf?

i want to run wc3 on my comp w/o using the cd. previously, when i used windows, i just used alcohol and made an mdf, and it worked because it could do the securom, the copy protection for wc3. but for linux, what is better? if i made an iso for wc3, would it work, given the copy pretection? what do you wc3 players usually use to run wc3 without a cd?

There's ways to do it. I've heard of doing everything from faking the drive letter with WINE to just using a no CD crack. I'm still using the original CD myself, though.
