Please upgrade gtkpod and libgpod

These are not easy to install from source. Mistakes break other packages. I expect there are quite a number of ipod users based on the number of posts. Please provide the latest versions of these in the repositories. Thanks.

this really isn't the place to be asking for that. I'd suggest launchpad, developer's mailing lists, or at least the multimedia & video forum as better alternatives.

The thing is that developers don't usually hang around in these forums, and us normal user's can't add upgraded packages into repositories :D

Anyway, the default policy is that after release Ubuntu versions only get updates for security reasons and to fix serious bugs. It's not likely that gtkpod falls into either category, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for upgrade.
