Hi guys,
Who determines if a thread has been solved? If I have a problem that is very similar to a "SOLVED" thread ( say the solution is slightly different on my amd64 box from 80x86) is there anyway that i can post it and make the thread unsolved or I have to start a new thread?

If you have a problem that is similar, you should start your own thread.

In answer to your first question, though, either the OP or a moderator determines if the thread is solved.
