Hi guys,
just wondering if someone can recommend good forum for C/C++ for linux programming. I had a look around, found the CodeGuru forum, but i'm sure there are many people that have much more experience, and know which forum is best!
thank you!

Just to let you know, CodeGuru (and Code Project) are very much Windows programming resources.

Do you have a newsgroup reader (ie, Pan)? If so, check out groups like comp.os.linux.development or comp.os.linux.development.apps. If you don't get your answer there, you'll likely not get it anywhere.

why you don't try to ask here? we do have couple of C++ experts using Linux.

Including ones who "haven't used C in over 10 years", but will happily give you advice about it in nearly every thread (although the advice is usually "use Python instead").

C linux programmers are fragmented so you won't see them in one place,

the C hard cores and C elitist are residing on kernel dev mailing list ,

while the C GUI fashionistas are residing on GTK dev mailing list.

so where do you belong? ;)

Don't forget about the library writers... They're everywhere!

Yes, I did not used C for over 10 years, and I do prefer Python.

For record, I **do not** suggest OP to switch to Python at this time. OP, just ask your C++ questions here. I will keep quiet to let C++ experts (like j_g) to answer the questions.

Maybe I will convert OP to Python at some later time :-)

If you need help/questions with issues specific to Linux C/C++ programming, you can just about always get an answer on this forum in the "Programming Talk" forum or www.linuxquestions.org (http://www.linuxquestions.org)'s programming forum.

If you have a C/GTK+ question, you might want to try GTK+ Forums (http://www.gtkforums.com)

The first two pages of a "C/C++ forum" Google search provides such a list:

Usenet newsgroups:
- comp.lang.c++
- comp.lang.c++.moderated

Both are about the C++ language itself (and the STL), not about specific OSes or libraries (yet things like boost are tolerated, after all it has become *the* unofficial STL). But they are great resources when it comes to *standard* C++.
