Just wanted to say thanks for not deleting my forum account. I hadn't been on here in months, mainly because I run two machines at home, one Windows (yes I know, I haven't coverted 100% yet, mainly due to games) and one Ubuntu. I recently moved, changed jobs etc, and then my Ubuntu box dies a horrible motherboard failure of a death. So since my Ubuntu box wasn't running, I haven't had time to even remotely work with Ubuntu in a while, since its a hobby for me.

I logged in today expecting to have my account gone, but its still here. Sometimes its just the simple joys in life that make you happy. Thanks again for all the hard work you admins and mods do.

Sorry about your motherboard, I hope everything goes alright in the future.

I had that happen to me back when I was dual-booting Fedora Core 3 and Windows XP Professional. Besides X requiring reconfiguration, Linux felt right at home. (Remark: Fedora Core 3's Bulletproof-X worked darn well) Needless to say, I was too scared to even try booting into Windows XP.

So try sticking your hard drive into your new system just for the sake of seeing what happens.
