Hi

I'm currently in my third (and final) year studying computer science at university in london (UK), and im starting to think about what i want to do with myself once i graduate. Linux and open source are a huge passion for me, and i'd love to have a job that would in some way benefit these communities, but i'm not really sure what jobs i could get into. I want to do something with programming, the language i'm best at is java, i know a little C++ and i want to learn more.
So what i want to know is what jobs or companies should i be looking for, and what other qualifications or skills should i aim to get?

thanks
James

If you want to do programming, you should try and figure out what kind of software you like to write. Then look for jobs in papers/internet etc. For programming, I would guess there are specific pages for it-jobs as well.

If you have done a complete working system of something that's always a good thing to have on your cv. It would get you a long way. Also networking, try and meet up with people who can offer you work in non-akward situations. For example, for game programming, a trip to GDC (game developers conference) is excellent for meeting people in the game industry.
