Hi Friends, this i am a newbie to linux and love using gutsy gibbon.

I was wondering how to get the those performance meters, processor status, memmory usage, ram usage etc showing up on the desktop? can anybody tell me how to get it on to the desktop?
If its some desklets lemme know. But is there any other way than using desklets? just wondering.
Thanks a lot in advance..

Those are all produced by a lightweight program called conky. It is a simple installation, but configuring it to match your desktop is an art of itself!

Here is a link to get you started.
