I am downloading the Source CD from http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/releases/7.10/release/source/
to customize. IT is an ISO. First, how do I get the source code out of the ISO, then how can I compile it and make my own Ubuntu Live CD.

iso files are disk images (name comes from the cd format ISO 9660).
you can burn the iso to a cd, and look at the files on the cd.
a search for "linux mount iso" should show you how to mount the image.
or file-roller should be able to show the contents, and extract it to a folder.

WARNING!
#######################
YOU'LL NEED AT LEAST 3GIG OF FREE MEMORY TO DO THIS! DO NOT ATTEMP TO DO IT OTHERWISE! I TAKE NO RESPOSANBILITY IF YOUR HDD/LINUX EXPLODES!
This is for Acglaphotis. The above is from the README file from your program. Do you mean 3GIGs of free disk space or actual memory? I just thought this was interesting because I've never heard of this happening before :)
