Hi all, I am currently in process of converting servers in our office to ubuntu. In my opnion we would reduce our work load if we did this because of the capabilities and ease of use of adept. However, I have to support a number of highly technical users. In one case for instance we have a system where a few months ago I installed fiesty, which has NFS installed and has a very specific configuration, and also apache and other packages that have had quite a bit of config file manipulation. My question is what will happen if I do a dist-upgrade on this system? what will happen to the config files? for nfs, apache etc?? When do I have to worry about the existing configs getting trashed using adept? How can I know if the new packages need re-configuration??
The suse nay-sayers in the group say that ubuntu is for desktops only, and I would love to show them what's up.
TIA
