Installing b2evolution in gutsy

I was able to get b2evolution installed via Synaptic, however it does not populate the database not install any files in my www directory.

I've looked and google'd and can locate anything that tells me how to finish the installation so I can use this software.

Did I miss a step?

I'm using gutsy desktop. Also phpmyadmin works so I think I have php installed correctly.
