I can't seem to find any screen shots of the new Daryna KDE edition, so I was wondering if anyone here had tried it, and what they thought about it. I did like the look and feel of Cassandra KDE over Kubuntu.
Thanks!

I'm running the latest beta in virtualbox. They have taken the one screenshot of the desktop off the server for some reason. It is very stable as usual. Most of the Kubuntu bugs are not present. Since it is a community release, there is no release date. Linux Mint 5 will be out before they get it done. I was going to install it, but Opensuse 10.3 beat it out. I might be able to post a screenshot from virtualbox, if I can figure out how to do it. I can probably pull it off onto a USB stick.

Snapshot2 is the Tasty menu. You can click the arrow in the top right corner to make the menu open as a separate window. The print screen button would not work with the regular menu opened. Let me know if there is something else you want to see.

Thanks for posting those! It actually looks very nice. I like the domino/vista hybrid they have going on. They do put more thought into the end result then you see on Kubuntu, although I do really like the new Kubuntu wallpaper.
It would just be nice if the mint kids put more screen shots of the community releases on the site. I really dig on the themes they come up with. Thanks again for taking the time to post those shots!

I just installed Mint KDE Daryna over openSUSE 10.3 and PCLinuxOS 2008. The reason is due to a bunch of little things.
After two attempts to get openSUSE configured correctly, I still had problems with updates that never seemed to actually update. I could not find Childsplay, my daughter's favorite games, in the repos. Gcompris would drift off the screen in full-screen mode, no matter the setting I chose (PCLinux had same issue in Childsplay, too). There were five different drivers available for my printer, making me try all of them before arriving at something that worked correctly (SMB-shared HP Deskjet).
I realized on PCLOS and Suse that I needed to do significant re-themeing to get things to a point where I was happy. PCLOS was far better than Suse in this regard.
In the end it all came down to the intangible, that certain something so hard to put into words. Mint KDE had a flow and feel that was much more appealing to me, and a simplicity that was very close to PCLOS. oSuse seemed so heavy and cumbersome for some reason.
The style of the distro has everything to do with the developer's preference, and I find that my tastes are more in line with the Mint KDE folks than the others. Of course, you can make the others look the same, and I tried, but ran into snags along the way. I am sure that is due to me being an average user.

Down8ve, I know what you are saying! Boo, the maintainer, put a great deal of time and thought into making the KDE Edition.
