If you have one of the new Macbooks (Santa Rosa). This is very new and we are still working out details.

I've been trying to get Ubuntu Studio running on my MacBook (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=610375). Basic install was simple, but as cyberdork33 mentioned, full functionality is not yet possible on the new MacBooks. I'm still working to get sound, wifi, and keyboard/trackpad customization.
If you have the older C2D or the original Core Duo MacBook, then you'll have better luck, as people have worked out solutions, and specific drivers for that gear has worked its way into the kernel.

Don't.
Boot into OS X and use Logic Studio.
Ubuntustudio is nowhere near as good as the Music production/ Audio editing software available on OS X.
Even if you do manage to get it working on a hardware-level, the experience is still horrible.
