According to Paul Thurrot, Microsft is planning on releasing Vista to manufacturing on August 9th, 2006, with broad market availbility on November 15th of that year. Beta 2, RC0 and RC1 will be released, respectivily, December 7th (2005), April 19th (2006) and June 28th (2006). All this also applies to Vista Server, with the exception that Server's RTM is scheduled for Januray 10th, 2007. WinFS is supposed to be released in Q3 2007.
Ive had to test this piece of crap here at my office....and all I can say is...."If this is release candidate 1, Then actual release should be called Windows Beta, not Windows Vista." Because this crap is barely Alpha material.

I hadn't heard any actual dates before now...but I don't understand why I should feel threatened...
Also, maybe I don't understand the way MS works its releases...but if RC1 is supposed to be released June 28th of next year, how do you have RC1?

Was refering to Beta 1, not RC1.
Beta 1 doesnt even deserve to be called Beta...more like PreCambrian-Caveman-Alpha.

And when more of them realize that Windows, when you break it down, is a piece of junk, they will most likely move away from Microsoft, hopefully.

it is definately an improvement over alpha build 5048, but it has a LONG way to go. ive also got the beta of WinFS (the day after it was released, thankyou TorrentBytes) and i really dont see the big deal...besides a more powerful permissions system compared to NTFS in XP, theres really nothing different about it.
