http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=609162 was closed because:
Closing this thread. There has been no scientific study to back up the original posters assertions. There is no link between vaccines and autism.
Although there is no hard link, it is wrong to say that there is no link at all. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/38784.php shows that although there is no formal recognition of the dangers of certain vaccines, the article states:
In 1999, on the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics and U.S. Public Health Service, thimerosal was removed from most childhood vaccines as a "precautionary" measure - i.e. without admitting to any causal link between thimerosal and autism.
This shows that there is some doubt of the safety of that chemical. The addition of this chemical to vaccines correlated with a steady rise of Autism, its removal with a decrease.
To close the thread because the Moderator didn't find this compelling is not right. To close it for other reasons, perhaps. I didn't read the OP's article, and originally responded, although I didn't quote, posters in the thread who saw no logical reason to be wary of vaccines. I gave there view, without taking a stance, and gave some evidence. Others were not so kind, and called me (and others) and idiot and stupid.
Please change the reasoning of the closing of the thread, or unlock it.
