Hello,
I would like to setup a file and print server using a computer with the following specs:

P2 - 266
96 MB RAM

Currently, the box runs FreeNAS (http://www.freenas.org) and I really like the headless operation and configuration it offers. I have a Brother HL-1240 printer locally connected to my dual boot XP/Gutsy box that I would like to isolate and somehow connect to the P2 box as well. FreeNAS only offers storage and Clark Connect (http://www.clarkconnect.com) seems to be much more than I need.

Has anyone heard of a distro that specializes in file and print serving out of the box with headless configuration? Or perhaps someone could point me to a solid "howto" using Ubuntu or another distro with minimal resource requirements and file/print server capabilities.

This link http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=1831119 seems relevant for starters with an older version of Ubuntu, but I'm wondering if something might work better "out of the box."

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I was going to recommend ClarkConnect. Just turn off all the services you don't need. Theres also SME Server, but I havent really heard anything about that distro in years.
