View Full Version : Remastering Gutsy

Reconstructor hasn't upgraded to handle Gutsy yet and I was wondering if anyone knew of a remastering program that was Gutsy-compatible?

Still not the right forum, but I will help you. :)
You should use Remastersys. It will take a snapshot of a currently running system and turn it into a backup (which keeps users in tact) or a distro (which creates a different user). I find this better because I can tell if the stuff actually works before I make the CD. Anyway, you can get it from this repository (add it to your sources.list using System > Administration > Software Sources):
deb http://www.remastersys.klikit.org/repository remastersys/
Then, reload your software list and install remastersys.

*sigh* got a link to the right forum?
Anyway, I added the repository because it does have its uses but I'm hoping for a program more like Reconstructor since I do not want the user accounts saved and I also want the ability to mess with the installer.

The only other program like Reconstructor is Ubuntu Customization Kit here (http://uck.sourceforge.net/).
The correct forum is here (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=201).
