What happened to the Pre-order campaign of Ankh 2 ?

The end of October is now over, and the counter was not updated since October, 19th.

My thoughs are that ixSoft did not receive enough pre-orders so they don't want to admin publicly they have failed.

That's a shame because we don't have plenty of such games on Linux. We have only Hopkins FBI and Ankh 1.

There is also now a possibility to pre-ordert his game on Tuxgames :

But also, nobody told me whether the game will by eventually ported.

Who did also pre-order this game ? As for my case, I pre-ordered it through a French retailer, but the pre-order campaign was not succesfull (only 10 pre-orders)

IxSfot got 68 (October, 19th). Tuxgames has may be succeeded to get few dozens of pre-orders.

I think this will not help our case to bring more games on Linux : according to ixSfot, on the German Market (one among the best Linux Marker in Europe), Mac Games sold 10 to 20 times more than the similar Linux Games :/

I'm not going to preorder a game from a non-english site like that or without a lot of game information/a game demo.

Of course, but 102 pre-orders are ridiculous. May be Amiga is a more friendly market for game publishers...

It's still 102 more than they would of had anyway, you can't expect loads of people to pre-order, most people wait till first patch is released like myself.

And you base that on one games preorders from a german site for a game that might not apeal to such a big adudience and to be honest I haven't seen that much marketing done for?

I would like to see a try with a game like Quake Wars, WoW, Guild Wars or other big release that tries it.

Hell Id's John Carmack went back on his statement that the new engine and upcomming releases wouldn't include a Linux version after something that allmost can be consived as a battle cry all over the net from Linux users ^^
