Hello all!

I recently installed Ubuntu on my laptop, which is primarily used for school purposes, and have so far enjoyed the trip.
After getting gutsy to work just right I am now hoping to add an important layer to my laptop: time killer.

I have a IBM T42 with 1gb of RAM, 1.5 Pentium mobile M processor, and ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 graphics card.

Part of making gutsy an enjoyable experience has been avoiding the restricted graphics driver. I went through three installs before I figured out that leaving my diver as is "out of the box" allows me better eye-candy, like AWN.

Anyhow, if there anyone can recommend some decent games, especially a FPS that does not require too much system resources, I would be appreciative to get some feedback.

THANKS!!!

Assault Cube would be perfect. It's slim, runs on slow gfx hardware, and always has some people playing on line all the time.
If your ping is 300ms the game is still very playable, as it uses a lot of client side prediction.

If you've got a bit more gfx processing juice, then try Sauerbraten

These two games are completely open source FPS games.

Happy Fragging (and I might see you online there) ;)
