View Full Version : Vista Network Discovery

"When network discovery is on, this computer can see other network computers and devices and is visible to other network computers."

I have file sharing disabled, printer sharing disabled, and media sharing disabled, and yet my laptop which runs vista displays not one, but two identities in my network. One for the computer, which contains a shared printers folder (which is empty), and another identity for shared media (which is empty).

The only thing I can do (that I know of) to prevent my computer from appearing, is to disable network discovery, which then keeps me from browsing the network.

Is there anything I can do keep my computer from showing up in the network, without sacrificing my ability to browse it?

I know this is a Ubuntu forum, but this is also where all the smart people are! Thanks for any help!
