Newbie Problem

Hi

I am trying to get MythTV to work on my system. I think I am having finger trouble but before I keep trying I have a quick question.

My Card is a Pinnacle PCTV Rave, With it I can watch TV on my Ubuntu Box using TVTime.

When I try and set up the backend mythTV can see this card.

However I can not set it up.

My question is, should it work, or am I wasting my time.

Hi

No, mine is a very old card. However I have discovered one problem the last application to use the card "hangs on to it".

I have fiddled some more and now have a picture and out of sync sound. (Funnily the sound stays on even when I close MythTV.

However it looks as if I am getting somewhere, but slowly!

peter, how are you getting the sound out of your tuner card? try a jack from the tuner card to the line in of your sound card if youre not already.

and what are your alsamixer settings? im guessing that would be a bttv tuner card? in which case you'll need to mute the audio input you are recording.
