hello! i have some problems. i got my installation to work fine except for problems with nvidia drivers or xvmc.

hardware:
geforce 6200 le
proprietary drivers
mythbuntu 7.10 (final)

using "standard xvmc" codec (tv settings : playback) causes the following:
fast forward does not work.
all OSD bitmap graphics go fuzzy & turn black and white.

random red pixels appear on dark areas.
perhaps caused also a few crashes. (screen black & machine not responding).
i have tried with interlace (all methods) and without.

outside mythtv playback of divx files does not work with either vlc or xine.the screen shows only random lookin pixels.

i have tried changing to open source driver from "screen options" but this only made more problems (OSD font is mini-sized alltough dpi should be 100x100) and results of setting screen resolution seem random.

the nvidia card & the rest of the hardware worked with xp, purevideo & dvb viewer.

any ideas? re-installing, checking install-media, or updating did not help.

i had believed that the osd was always black and white when using XvMC.

but i might be wrong and that doesnt solve ur problem.

nope, but now that i know it's a feature i don't need to bother about it.
