Howto get the sounds in preferences:sounds to work with applications

I am trying to get the system sounds to work, : Select check Box:Choose menu item:Click command button:Miscellaneous message:Question dialog:Error message:Warning message:and Information messge. The only one that works is the login and email message.
I am using Ubuntu (Gusty Gibbon) Studio 7.10

I have seemed to have solved the issue myself again. This seems to be happening more than not lately. What i found out is that you have to install Esounds thru the Synaptic Package Manager and restart the computer and the sounds you have choosen thru the Preferences-Sounds and Sounds Tab will become active. Every time you make a change in the sounds selection menu, you have to restart the computer (ie windows) in order for them to take effect. Hope this helps someone. By the way i am using Ubuntu Studio (Gusty Gibbon 7.10) and up-to-date on all the updates.:popcorn:
