No, but you have good RAM, and a OK video card, it could probably run on the lowest setting.

i'm looking at the listed min required for linux (the one yous guys listed is for windows but the two look freakishly similar)
true my card has got muscle but its over a gen older than the min required card listed same goes for the processor. so i don't want to try it unless someone who beat the minimum requirements tells me otherwise

You can download the demo for linux from here:

I can only run it on the low settings and I have Geforce 7600GT. :(

I can run it on high with a geforce 6600 GT. Having a music player going in the back ground messes it up a bit. I would say the OP probably can't run it, the video card is a bit under spec and it would be chugalicious.
Why not just try it?

ok i'll try it when i get home just one(actually 2) more questions
what is a likely worst case scenario should this not work? could it turn into a system breaker?

No, unless you run it as root. The worst thing that could happen (with any game) is a video driver lock-up, so you have to reset the computer. Nothing to worry about. But it's more likely the game will just refuse to start up.

Really,
well, if I hadn't removed it already I would check the settings again... maybe I had antialiasing on full or something like that.
