I am trying to enable nfs shares on my backend (mythbuntu 7.10) though the mythbuntu control centre. Every time I select to enable the nfs service in MCC and press apply, a box pops up and looks like it has to download/install some stuff (I think it says 1 of 7). But the install box exits immediately with out actually doing anything. There is no error message and mythbuntu control centre does not reappear. I am simply dropped back at the desktop. If I run mythtbuntu control centre again I see that nfs service is not enabled.
Any ideas?

Put the CD back in the drive before you install. This has been reported as a bug because it installs the packages from the CD but doesn't let the user know.

Thanks I will try that tonight (after I burn a new CD).
Is there anyway to tell mythtvbuntu/gusty to not install anything off the CD and to install everything off the Internet? I don't usually keep a copy of the install CD handy. After I complete the install I put the CD-RW back into the "reuse" pile. I've never seen Edgy or Feisty try to copy anything off the CD after the first install is complete.

Yeah go to Applications->Software Sources
Disable the CD in there.
