Will there be a newer kernel available as all that I'm seeing in the apt-cache is the 2.6.15, and kernel.org is showing that its up to 2.6.23 now....

It would be nice to be able to get something newer.....as I haven't been able to do a custom compile of a newer kernel without the help of apt. :(

Just curious, why do you want the latest kernel?

It seems like running the most recent kernel with a mission-critical server app is asking for trouble. Am I missing something? Are there new features in ..23 that are worth the risk?

I need any kernel newer then 2.6.18 for the application(s) that I'm running on my server.

I've got my new kernel this way.

I attempted that route already and it dumps me out to a very odd shell, almost like the recovery mode.

The generic Kernel didn't work on the server that I'm trying to upgrade. Thank you for the attempt though. = )
