Search 'unanswered posts', and about a third of the time, the Next Page option will come back with 'no posts match your search terms'. Doesn't matter if it's page 2 or page 8. Doesn't matter how long you've been at it. Doesn't matter if you were logged in or not.

And when it's page 8 or so, you've got to click a few times to get back there because the Next option only shows three pages. Of course the bug kicks in about a third of the time still, so it often becomes a real time-sink trying to get back to where you were.

It's an old bug. I see it's has been mentioned a few times in the last couple of years, though I don't see any explanation in those threads.

It's a bad bug. We don't want to encourage people answering questions to remember that they could be doing something else. ;)

So, what's the score? Is it being worked on?

Looks like someone has been working on the problem of answered posts showing up in 'unanswered posts'. Thank you! It's not perfect but much better. I think the record I've seen is one thread that had 21 replies already.

I was going to ask about this too.

When I try to go to page two of the list I get the "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." error.

Is it because the number unanswered posts built back up in the time I spent on the first page, making the original search invalid? (I don't know a better way to explain that!)

I guess one should immediately go to page 3 or so of the results.
