Code gets converted to Smileys

When posting to this forum, if I type
:? :o :mad:without identifying it as code, it gets displayed as :? :o :mad:.

This garbles some posted code :mad: if the poster doesn't notice the "#" option.
It would be better if Smileys were not on by default.

At the bottom when you post there is an option to "Disable smilies in text" Also I think you can do this permitly in your User CP options.

You should try to include the piece of code within [ noparse ] [ /noparse ] tags (without the spaces). This is Vbbcode or something close (I do not remember where I got that tip, I think it was from bodhi ;))
