Hi all, after install firefox with ubuntuzilla, I'm having difficulty installing firefox plugins. Basically no matter how I install a plugin, the only way to get it registered it to do a ubuntuzilla -a remove -p firefox followed by a ubuntuzilla -a install -p firefox, What am I doing wrong? I've checked the plugin folder and the plugins are there, but if I use aobut:plugins they do not appear until I do round of remove and install. Is there some command I could issue to update whatever is not getting updated correctly? Thanks in advance for the help

what version of ubuntu? since you are talking about ff3, i'm guessing hardy?
if that is indeed the case... then this is not surprising, since addons that are compatible with ff3 may not be backward compatible with ff2...
not sure what i'd do about this, but getting ff3 and ff2 to live together in harmony could be tricky business - you'd have to use a different profile dir for ff2 than you do for ff3..

Yes sir I'm running hardy 8.04lts.Sorry for the short post above had a slight problem here not cpu related. Was wondering if I down grade to ff2.14 then try ubuntuzilla do you think this is worth a try?Ff3 is alright it's really just youtube and flash causing crashes seems pretty solid except for this flash crash thing.Fist let me try tonight with FF3 so I can give you the error message it gives.Wanted to do this in the first post but the shet hit the fan here.

well, if it's a fresh install and you have nothing to lose by hosing your firefox profile, then by all means, give it a try and see what happens! :)
that said, ubuntuzilla hasn't really been tested very much on hardy, and there are some known problems with plugins that i'm still working on... but until I get my hands on a hardy livecd and can test things out, honestly it's probably best to stay away from ubuntuzilla for a bit...

I,m going to wait nanotube because I pimped the ride already it's like x-mas for me lol,but I will reinstall it again soon.It does not take that long for me to muck it up for a reinstall. When I do ubuntuzilla will be the first thing I try after I down grade to 2.14. thanks for the advice
