The debian packages for previous versions of ubuntu should work for Gutsy as well.

I don't get the single combined window look with gimpshop, am I supposed to, or does it only work in Windows?

I don't think that is provided with GIMPShop, it only re-organizes the menus to make it more familiar to people coming from Photoshop.

I think that's a Windows-only feature. They use something called the "De-Weirdifier plug-in" as I recall...

Never used GIMPShop, but from what I've read (including a few posts above yours in this thread) it only combines the windows when you use it on Windows. You could still combine them the same way you can in regular GIMP to get down to only having two windows (combine everything together except the image window). Unless of course GIMPShop disables this functionality.

If you combine all but the image window and set the gimp windows as "always on top" you almost get to what you are searching for.

I don't get why GIMP doesn't have the option to run it in one window. That's unbelievably annoying feature and it really wants me to keep my hands off the that crappy software.

Photoshop on the Mac does the same thing. I don't see what the big deal is. At least on linux you can open GIMP in it's own workspace. Pre Leopard Mac do not even have that option.

Seems like the .deb file mentioned on the 1st page is not available anymore. Any ideas where could I find one?
