I'm looking for a distro that have modern gnome, bootsplash-enabled kernel, grub-gfxboot, good repos, and kiba-dock/compiz-fusion. I already discarded fedora (they use a userspace splasher as primitive as breezy's usplash) and now foresight is my next candidate and I wanted to ask some stuff about it like:
Hi. I'm thinking about downloading foresight, but before I want to know:
1) does it use grub-gfxboot and bootsplash?
2) how do I get kiba-dock, compiz-fusion, and the miriad of restricted stuff (flash, java, etc)¡
3) how do I build conary packages off source tarballs?
4) Can I put tird-party repos (if any) next to the main ones at the same time?
5) Does intel HDA audio cards work w/o screenching noise and the intel GM945 have full 3D accel (broken in the gutsy's kernel / xorg-server versions)?
