Is there a section where you're able to download the existing wallpapers (the ones that come with Ubuntu 7.10)? They're really great but i can't find where they're stored on the live CD.
I have trawled the forums here for other answers, but i cannot find any active links to wallpapers.

try looking in
/usr/share/backgrounds
But there are heaps of even nicer ones around (IMO) on places like gnomelook.org or deviantart.com

That directory doesn't exist on the live demo, unfortunately. I cannot install the OS so i am looking for these wallpapers on the CD itself.

Ubuntu should put a place on their site for all of their wallpaper versions (Breezy's, Dapper's, Feisty's, etc.).
Like, for example, I like the chalkboard background in Edubuntu Dapper, but it isn't present in Edubuntu's Feisty!

DeviantArt is always a great place. :)

I do understand that Deviantart is a nice place for finding all sorts of things including desktop wallpapers,as mentioned previously. I use the site regularly, and have spent a long time going through the userlist searching for wallpapers on several previous occasions.
However, i'm looking specifically for the wallpapers used by the people who work on Ubuntu in their latest/possibly previous release(s), but mainly the one that is set to default on the liveCD version of release 7.10. I'm not interested in alternatives, i'm just one of those people who is extremely choosey about what they put on their desktops.
Thanks very much for all of the suggestions, but unless you can direct me to actual Ubuntu wallpapers, it's just not what i'm after.
thanks
