I had an image viewer on my previous install of Ubuntu (Feisty) that I must have installed myself, but I don't remember the name.

In that viewer pressing Control-I would display picture info, like EXIF data. I need that. What program was that? Can you help me?

(Just found out that gThumb can show it as well, but still curious)

open synaptic and start checking maybe some name will ring a bell.

Could it be gqview?

No, it wasn't gqview, but that looks good, I'll try that. I am waiting for the Linux edition of XNView that I adore, that will allow my to see all kinds of EXIF and image data in full screen on top of the image, and only the info I choose, and nooo grey boxes. Transparent text. I can post a screenshot if you don't know what I mean.

Weird, I remember it as the default viewer in Gnome, but it clearly wasn't. I don't believe how bad EOG is now, what is the huge toolbar in full screen mode all about? Also in document viewer. They just ruined those viewers for me.

gqview is okay so far, light weight, and full full screen. :)

Sounds like a cool app from what you are saying.

I do like gqview, not only is light weight if I have many images in the same directory I can scroll down fast between all of them
