Final Thoughts
Despite the few problems I had, Ubuntu is good enough for me to continue using for a while, possibly indefinitely if the next release continues the same pattern of improvement that version 5.04 had over its predecessor. With what seems to be true dedication to the open-source market, Canonical has a very solid operating system with Ubuntu, and I'll gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a great beginner's system.

This is a good one..At least the word is getting out there that Ubuntu is newbie friendly and is the best alternative to you know what.

I wouldn't say ubuntu is newbie-friendly.
I WOULD say it's an excellent teaching distro--everything works well enough to enable you to gain confidence quickly & easily (if my experience is typical)

I'd like to actually a read a well done review from someone who disliked Ubuntu. All those mostly positive reviews are ok, but I'd like to know about someone on the other side of things. Of course, in a professional and thoughtful manner that could have the ability to persuade users off Ubuntu in a professional manner, not the usual trollish "only one disc; it's brown; it's Gnome-centric".
